The X Cashtag Program allows users to interact with ticker symbols for stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies, turning them into clickable destinations. By tapping a cashtag, users are presented with options to trade these assets through a network of partner brokerages. Key partners include major cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini, as well as Interactive Brokers and Moomoo.
This feature builds upon the earlier introduction of smart cashtags, which provide users with real-time market conversations and financial information. The new program streamlines the process from discovery to execution, enabling users to move seamlessly from engaging in financial discussions on X to executing trades without leaving the platform's ecosystem.
Monique Pintarelli, SpaceXAI’s Head of Global Advertising, stated that the program connects financial conversation with action, allowing users to act in real-time on what matters to them. Mridul Singhai, X’s Product Engineering Lead, added that the cashtags bridge the gap between seeing a ticker on the timeline and accessing the market itself, providing seamless access to live charts and related conversations.
