Ryan Paisey, PiQ Markets

Ryan Paisey

Founder and CEO

His career in markets started over 20 years ago, on the trading floor, as a runner. It's about as ground level as finance gets, and it taught him how markets actually work before he ever placed a trade himself.

From there he moved into broking and trading, building the experience that took him from the floor into the heart of the market itself.

He went on to become a market maker for ICE and CME, trading futures, options and physical markets. Later he ran his own energy trading desks, working across oil and gas and building a deep, practical understanding of how energy markets move and why.

That two decades of trading, broking and market making sits behind PiQ. Ryan has always had a strong interest in educating traders, breaking down markets and geopolitics in a way people can actually use.

Today his goal is to build tools that empower traders to be the best they can be, and help them navigate a world of financial information that is increasingly noisy, biased and hard to trust.

Jamie Dutta, PiQ Markets

Jamie Dutta

Chief Operating Officer

He brings nearly 30 years of experience across trading, investment banking, market research, financial media and fintech. During his career, he has managed multi-billion-dollar books at leading institutions and traded a broad range of products, including interest rates, foreign exchange, equities, indices, bonds and derivatives.

That experience has given him a practical understanding of how markets work — from the mechanics of execution and liquidity to the wider forces that drive prices. He has worked through different market cycles, changing economic conditions and periods of significant volatility. That experience helps him understand both the importance of disciplined risk management and the need to remain adaptable when circumstances change.

Alongside his trading background, he worked as a research director and market analyst, producing insight and content for brokers, trading platforms and financial businesses. He has also appeared on television and in financial media, discussing central-bank policy, economic data, company results, geopolitics, investor sentiment and trading psychology.

A key part of Jamie's work has always been communication. Financial markets can seem complex and intimidating, but good news and analysis should bring clarity. He has always focused on explaining what is happening, why it matters and how different developments may affect investors and traders.

At PiQ, Jamie combines his market experience with an understanding of financial content, technology and the needs of different audiences. He's passionate about helping people engage with investing in a more informed and confident way.

Jamie's approach is team-led, practical, curious and audience-focused. He believes the best financial products and services should combine strong technology with clear information, thoughtful design and a genuine understanding of the people who use them.
