AI lab Anthropic launched a new set of tools on Monday designed for financial advisers, integrating its Claude chatbot with investment analytics and wealth-management software from firms including BlackRock, Charles Schwab, and Addepar. The product, named Claude for Financial Advisors, aims to streamline tasks such as preparing for client meetings, reviewing portfolios, and managing post-meeting follow-ups.
This launch follows a similar move by rival OpenAI, which recently introduced a version of ChatGPT tailored for the financial industry, offering tools for financial research, modeling, and client material preparation. Anthropic has been expanding its presence in financial services, previously developing tools based on its Claude AI model for investment research, portfolio analysis, and financial modeling.
The new offering from Anthropic connects Claude with data and software from a range of other firms, including Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, and Zocks. The announcement comes amid increasing scrutiny of the pace and cost of AI development, with industry leaders questioning the sustainability of current spending and the speed of advancement due to concerns about potential misuse.
