Two Filipino sailors killed in attack on Saudi oil tanker in Strait of Hormuz

The incident took place on August 31, as the tanker navigated the crucial waterway. Maritime security agency UKMTO reported that a tanker had been struck by three unknown projectiles while outbound through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has previously threatened tankers attempting to transit the waterway without authorization. Bahri stated it remains in continuous contact with the vessel and is coordinating closely with relevant authorities and maritime industry stakeholders. A month prior, another Bahri vessel was hit near the strait, and two other Bahri vessels were attacked in the Red Sea following a naval blockade declaration by Iran-backed Houthi forces.
