Russian forces conducted extensive drone attacks across Ukraine over the past 24 hours, resulting in at least six fatalities and 56 injuries nationwide, according to Ukrainian authorities. The capital, Kyiv, which has been a frequent target of drone assaults for over a week, sustained 13 injuries, with six individuals requiring hospitalization. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported the figures for the city.
Overall, Russia deployed 121 Shahed-type attack drones, including jet-powered models, targeting 15 locations across the country. Ukraine's air defense systems successfully intercepted 103 of these drones and other munitions. Debris from downed Russian drones was found in six separate locations.
Beyond Kyiv, other regions also reported casualties and damage. In Donetsk Oblast, five residents were wounded. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast experienced strikes in the Pavlohrad district, where two police officers were killed and another hospitalized in serious condition. The Nikopol district saw four injuries, one severe, while the city of Dnipro reported one death and nine injuries, with several hospitalized.
Kherson Oblast recorded one fatality and eight injuries. Kharkiv Oblast reported four injuries in the villages of Pisky-Radkivski and Postolne. Odesa Oblast suffered at least one death and five injuries, including a child, from attacks on civilian infrastructure. Sumy Oblast reported two women injured in drone attacks on residential buildings, and Zaporizhzhia Oblast saw one death and four injuries from strikes on the city and surrounding settlements.
