Ukraine is set to overhaul its air raid alert system in response to persistent Russian drone and missile attacks on the capital, Kyiv, which have continued for seven consecutive days. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on September 2 that the current single alert system, which does not differentiate between threat types, will be replaced by a tiered approach.
The new system will feature 'yellow' alerts for incoming drones and 'red' alerts for more significant threats such as missiles, including ballistic missiles, and large-scale combined attacks.
