Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian Black Sea port city of Odesa with missiles overnight into August 9, causing damage to infrastructure and residential buildings. Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, reported that eight people were injured and receiving medical care. The strikes damaged a 24-storey apartment building and numerous cars, with fires breaking out in several locations, including a four-story residential building and private homes. Firefighters extinguished a blaze that covered approximately 1,000 square meters. Prior to the attack, Ukraine's Air Force had issued a warning about ballistic weapons targeting the city. This incident follows previous Russian strikes on Odesa in early August, including one that damaged the Chornomorets football stadium and another near a market that injured three people.
