Coca-Cola announced on Tuesday its intention to invest $10 billion in U.S. infrastructure between 2026 and 2030, a significant commitment to one of its key markets. This planned spending encompasses projects already announced in states like California, Colorado, and Alabama, among others.
CFO John Murphy clarified that the $10 billion figure represents a system-wide investment, including capital expenditures from Coca-Cola's bottling partners, not solely the company's own spending. This contrasts with the company's earlier forecast of approximately $2.2 billion in capital expenditure for the current fiscal year.
According to an independently commissioned study, the Coca-Cola system's U.S. operations contributed $85 billion to the nation's gross domestic product in a single year and supported nearly one million jobs. The system also spent about $37 billion with U.S. suppliers and contributed $177 million to community programs through its foundations.
