Ukraine's General Staff has not disclosed its own casualty figures, citing operational secrecy.
Independent Western analysis suggests Russian losses significantly outweigh those of Ukraine. The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) estimates the ratio of Russian to Ukrainian casualties to be roughly 2.5:1 or 2:1.
