Zelensky calls for Ukraine to launch 1,000 drones daily at Russia

Zelensky stated that strengthening defense against jet-powered Shaheds and increasing the frequency of deep strikes into Russia are top priorities. He highlighted that Russia is already facing economic repercussions from the war, including reduced gasoline availability and exports, and is importing fuel.

Recent Ukrainian attacks have focused on Russian energy and military infrastructure. On August 28, forces targeted the Slavneft-YANOS refinery in the Yaroslavl region, one of Russia's largest oil-processing facilities. This followed a strike on August 26 against the Lukoil-Nizhegorodorgsintez refinery (NORSI) in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, which reportedly caused a fire and halted crude oil processing. Additionally, a Russian Tu-95 strategic bomber was reportedly damaged at the Engels air base.

Zelensky indicated that these strikes would continue and intensify if Russia does not engage in rational negotiations to end the conflict.
