Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan. The announcement was made by Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov.
Putin's schedule at the two-day summit, which begins Monday, includes nine bilateral meetings. Besides Xi Jinping, Putin is slated to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The summit agenda includes discussions on strengthening the organization and maintaining cooperation in various areas. Pakistan is set to assume the SCO presidency immediately after the summit, with Russia to follow in 2027-2028. Approximately 20 to 25 documents are expected to be signed, and a "SCO Plus" meeting will also be held.
Following the SCO summit, Putin is scheduled to travel to Vladivostok on Tuesday evening to attend the 11th Eastern Economic Forum. There, he will meet Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang.
