Russian forces conducted widespread attacks across Ukraine over the past day, resulting in at least 13 fatalities and 104 injuries. A hospital in Kryvyi Rih was among the sites damaged by Russian air strikes.
In Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the hospital was attacked with Banderol missiles, according to Oleksandr Vilkul, chair of the City Defense Council. Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha stated that four people were injured in this specific attack, including two medical workers. Hanzha also reported one death and three injuries from other Russian attacks in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6.
Overall, Ukraine's Air Force reported that Russia launched 137 Shahed-type attack drones overnight on Oct. 6, including 49 jet-powered versions, along with Gerbera and Parodiya decoy drones. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted or suppressed 114 of these drones, while strikes were confirmed at 17 locations. Debris from downed drones fell in four areas.
Kharkiv Oblast experienced the most severe impact, with regional governor Oleh Syniehubov reporting seven deaths and 70 injuries, including children, from attacks on the city of Kharkiv and surrounding areas. The city was hit by at least three glide bombs (KABs) on Oct. 5, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
In eastern Donetsk Oblast, three people were killed and 11 injured. In northeastern Sumy Oblast, Russian drone strikes resulted in one fatality and four injuries. Southern Kherson Oblast saw one person killed and four injured. Southeastern Zaporizhzhia Oblast reported eight injuries across 58 settlements following 955 attacks.
