Russian drone attacks on Kyiv on the morning of October 8, 2026, resulted in three fatalities and at least 13 injuries, according to city Mayor Vitali Klitschko. One drone struck a four-story commercial building in the Solomyansky district, killing two people and injuring two, while another drone's wreckage fell in the Holosiivskyi district.

The State Emergency Service also reported a fire at a logistics facility in Buchanskyi district, Kyiv Oblast, caused by a Russian drone strike. Overnight attacks on Kyiv had already claimed four lives and injured 21 people across four districts. In Solomyanskyi district, drone debris fell on a residential building, causing a fire and injuring one person, while in Desnyanskyi district, falling debris also ignited a fire in a residential building.
Ukraine's air force stated that Russia launched 142 Shahed-type drones, 82 of which were jet-powered, during the night of October 8, and that air defense systems successfully shot down or suppressed 126 of them.
