At least 24 people were killed and 134 injured in Russian attacks across Ukraine in the past 24 hours, according to Ukrainian authorities. The attacks involved a variety of missiles and drones, hitting 18 locations.
In Pryluky, Chernihiv Oblast, a Russian cruise missile struck a residential building, killing 14 people, including four children, and injuring 50, seven of whom were children. Rescue efforts were ongoing.
The Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, was also heavily targeted. Two people were killed when a Russian munition hit a garage cooperative in the Darnytskyi district, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
The Ukrainian Air Force stated that out of an unspecified number of ballistic missiles launched, five were shot down or suppressed. Thirty-nine of 48 cruise missiles were confirmed shot down or suppressed, and 117 out of 130 attack drones were downed.
Other regions also reported casualties. In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, seven people were injured at a medical facility in Kryvyi Rih, and two more in the Nikopol region. Donetsk Oblast reported 12 injured, while Kharkiv Oblast had two injured. Kirovohrad Oblast saw two deaths, and Kherson Oblast reported one death and 11 injuries, including one child. Poltava Oblast recorded two deaths and 34 injuries in Kremenchuk, and Sumy Oblast reported two deaths and 12 injuries. In Zaporizhia Oblast, one man was killed and six injured.
