Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past day resulted in at least 10 fatalities and 45 injuries, according to local authorities on October 8. The assaults included 142 Shahed-type drones, with Ukraine's Air Force reporting the downing of 126.
In Donetsk Oblast, Governor Vadym Filashkin reported four deaths and six injuries. Two of the fatalities occurred in Zelenye, one person died in Sloviansk where a high-rise building, administrative building, shop, service station, gas station, car, and bus were damaged. In Veselia Hora, Novodonetska community, one person died and a private house was damaged. One person was injured in Zolote Prudy, with a private house, car, and truck damaged. In Druzhkivka, one person was injured.
In Kyiv, four people were killed and 21 others injured, including four children, the Kyiv city military administration (KMDA) stated. In Solomianskyi district, a UAV fell on a residential building's roof, causing a fire, and falling debris injured one person. In Desnianskyi district, falling drone debris also sparked a fire in a residential building.
Across the wider Kyiv Oblast, three people were injured, according to regional governor Tymur Tkachenko. Two were injured in Bucha district and one in Brovary district. Three warehouses, an infrastructure object, a private house, and four vehicles were also damaged.
In Sumy Oblast, two 14-year-old boys died from an explosive object detonation, and four people were injured by Russian drone strikes, the Sumy military state administration said. In the city of Sumy, a 46-year-old woman and men aged 69 and 49 were injured by drones, while a 62-year-old man was injured in Velykypysarivska.
Kharkiv Oblast reported three injuries overnight, said regional governor Oleh Syniehubov. In Kharkiv city, a 67-year-old woman was injured; a 62-year-old man was injured in Dergachi; and a 70-year-old woman was injured in Dobrenka village.
In Kherson Oblast, Russian attacks injured five people, according to regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin. Russian forces also struck critical and social infrastructure, residential areas, including a high-rise building and four private houses, and private cars.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast saw three people injured by Russian attacks over the last day, regional governor Ivan Fedorov reported. He noted 84 reports of damage to housing, cars, and infrastructure.
In Odesa Oblast, an attack damaged a parking lot, several cars, and an animal shelter, killing one animal, regional governor Oleh Kiper said. Damage to civilian enterprises, settlements, and a bus was also reported in Dnipropetrovsk and Rivne oblasts.
