Russian guided aerial bombs struck a five-story residential building in Zaporizhzhia early on Oct. 10, 2026, killing four people and injuring four others, regional officials reported. The attack partially destroyed one entrance to the apartment building, causing sections of the structure to collapse to the second floor.
Mykhailo Semikin, acting head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, stated that three people sustained minor injuries, while another was hospitalized. The condition of the hospitalized victim was not immediately known. Rescue workers pulled two residents from beneath the rubble, including a woman and a man, as emergency crews continued searching the damaged building. Semikin indicated at approximately 7:05 a.m. local time that one more person may still be under the rubble.
Ukraine's Air Force had issued a warning around 5 a.m. that Russian tactical aircraft had launched guided aerial bombs toward Zaporizhzhia. The full extent of the damage remained unclear as search-and-rescue operations continued.
