At least 15 people were killed in Ukraine during a large-scale Russian missile attack overnight, which President Volodymyr Zelensky described as one of Russia's "most vile" attacks. Residential buildings in Pryluky, Dnipro, and Kremenchuk were hit, with emergency services searching for survivors in the rubble.
Zelensky stated that Russia fired approximately 70 missiles in total, with key targets including the country's energy infrastructure. He renewed calls for allies to provide air defense support.
In retaliation, Ukraine reported striking four targets in Russia's Perm, Samara, and Astrakhan regions over the past 24 hours, including two oil facilities and a training ground. Zelensky also indicated a response in the Black Sea.
Separately, an oil tanker off the coast of Sochi was attacked by unmanned boats, and a second vessel carrying grain was hit within Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea. Bulgarian authorities stated the crew of the grain vessel was rescued, but did not attribute blame for the attacks.
