The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) hosted its annual Liquid Feed Symposium (LFS) in Fort Worth, Texas, from September 9-11, drawing over 175 industry professionals. The event focused on advancements in animal nutrition, global trade, sustainability, and emerging industry challenges.
Key discussions included insights on feeding fat and fatty acids to dairy cattle, geopolitical and tariff updates, and a panel on future industry challenges. Sessions also covered sustainability initiatives from the Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER) and previewed an upcoming vitamin and amino acid research report. Actor Barry Corbin was a special guest.
During the symposium, Paul Davis, Ph.D., an animal nutritionist, was honored with the AFIA Liquid Feed Hall of Fame Award for his pioneering research and contributions to liquid feed supplements and cattle producer support. The event also included a fundraiser for the Kenny Berg Liquid Feed Research and Education Fund, which raised $15,245 to support industry research and education.
