Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) has inaugurated its Tianjin Early Nutrition Aqua Feed Facility in China, marking an expansion of its local manufacturing capabilities. The facility is designed to produce specialized hatchery and nursery feeds for fish and shrimp, catering to customers in China and across the Asia Pacific region. This new site, ADM's second dedicated to aquaculture hatchery and nursery feeds, leverages the company's 25 years of international expertise in early-stage nutrition. The facility has an annual design capacity of approximately 5,000 metric tons and employs cold micro-extrusion and marumerization techniques to create highly water-stable microparticles. ADM leaders, including Gerald Wilflingseder, president of Animal Nutrition, APAC, and Eric Carfi, general manager of Animal Nutrition, China, attended the opening ceremony with representatives from local government and customers from various APAC markets. China's aquaculture output exceeded 63 million metric tons in 2025, with a growing emphasis on seedstock quality and early-stage nutrition management.
