Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, has called for Muslim countries to unite against Israel and the United States, urging them to "know your real enemy." In a letter to religious leaders attending a conference in Tehran, Khamenei identified the U.S. and Israel as enemies of Islamic nations and implored rulers to understand their plans and confront them.
Khamenei has not been seen publicly since Feb. 28, when Iran's father and other senior leaders were killed in what the report describes as opening strikes by the U.S. and Israel. The war has revealed divisions within the Muslim world, exacerbated by Iran's actions during the conflict and its restriction of movement through the Strait of Hormuz.
Separately, NBC reported that a team of its journalists, including correspondent Matt Bradley, was attacked by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank. The crew, along with a Palestinian woman they were interviewing, were treated for injuries. Video footage showed masked settlers approaching the crew with sticks and damaging their vehicles. The Israeli military stated it was aware of reports of Palestinian injuries but did not comment on the attack on the NBC crew.
In another incident, a British activist named Finn Joughin was reportedly seized by Israeli settlers from a Palestinian village and held in a shed before being handed over to police. His lawyer stated that settlers held him for half an hour before police took custody. Joughin was scheduled to appear in a Jerusalem court. Settlers accused him of assaulting a child, which his lawyer denied, stating he was trying to protect the village. Police are investigating the incident.
