HomeServices acquires 1000WATT to boost integrated real estate strategy

With the acquisition, 1000WATT will function as an internal resource for HomeServices' brokerage and franchise operations, leveraging its research and content capabilities. Chris Kelly, president and CEO of HomeServices of America, stated that the addition of 1000WATT's team and research platform will provide significant industry knowledge, strategy, and creative talent to advance HomeServices' vision of a 'Complete Real Estate Experience.'

Brian Boero, co-founder of 1000WATT, will assume the role of chief marketing and strategy officer at HomeServices, while the other co-founder, Marc Davison, will serve as chief creative officer. The entire 1000WATT team will be integrated into HomeServices of America.

1000WATT has previously collaborated with HomeServices on its unified technology platform, OnePoint. Boero highlighted HomeServices' existing infrastructure, which includes brokerage, mortgage lending, title services, and insurance, and expressed enthusiasm for contributing to an effort of such scale and ambition.

HomeServices has been expanding its offerings within the housing ecosystem, recently adding in-house mortgage servicing through Prosperity Home Mortgage, LLC. The company views OnePoint as a key initiative to transform its back-office capabilities into a consumer-facing brand focused on trust and a single point of contact throughout real estate transactions.
