Champion Homes Inc. has appointed Michael Haack, the current president and CEO of Eagle Materials Inc., as an independent director to its board. The appointment, effective August 24, 2026, brings the total number of board members at the manufactured housing company to seven, with six being independent. Haack will also serve on the board's compensation committee.
Haack brings over two decades of experience in large-scale manufacturing, mergers and acquisitions, and operations. During his tenure at Eagle Materials, a U.S. manufacturer of heavy construction products, he has overseen more than $1.6 billion in acquisitions. His background in core building materials markets is seen as valuable for Champion Homes as it navigates input costs and supply chain volatility.
Michael Berman, chair of the Champion Homes board, stated that Haack's experience leading complex industrial organizations will be beneficial. Prior to joining Eagle Materials, Haack spent more than 17 years at Halliburton in various senior manufacturing and operational leadership roles.
Haack expressed his honor in joining the Champion Homes board, noting the company's position at the intersection of manufacturing and innovation in addressing housing demand. He has also served on the board of Terra CO2 and previously on 2Source Manufacturing Inc., and is involved with advisory organizations connected to MIT and Texas A&M University. He holds advanced degrees from Rice University, Texas A&M University, and Purdue University.
