Max Verstappen secured victory in both the Singapore Grand Prix sprint race and the main Grand Prix, marking his first win at the circuit. The Dutch driver benefited from a crash by George Russell in the sprint and led the main race from start to finish, despite radio issues. Verstappen noted his car has taken a significant step forward.

Max Verstappen's victories in Singapore, including his first Grand Prix win at the circuit, demonstrate a resurgence for Red Bull and the driver. This performance, coupled with his recent results, positions him as a threat for second place in the championship standings, despite his stated lack of concern for the overall standings.
Max Verstappen secured a dominant victory in both the sprint race and the main Grand Prix at the Singapore street circuit. The Red Bull driver inherited the lead of the sprint on Saturday after Mercedes driver George Russell crashed out from the lead on a wet track.
Russell, who had started second, misjudged the final corner on intermediate tires and touched a slick white line, leading to his car bending and breaking. "I went a little bit wide, and then I touched the white line. The No. 1 rule in the rain is don’t touch the white line. It’s a very silly mistake–overly confident," Russell said after the sprint.
Verstappen went on to win the sprint, his first victory at the Singapore circuit, though he downplayed its significance, stating, "I want to win tomorrow." He later secured pole position for the main race and led from start to finish, even with radio communication issues. "The car was really good on the tires. I could really manage them well," Verstappen commented after the Grand Prix.
Verstappen noted that his Red Bull car has made significant progress, stating, "I really think, of course, that our car has taken a really nice step forward. But at the end of the day, yeah, it’s just been more driveable and more predictable."
