The United Arab Emirates has signaled its intention to invest an additional $25 billion in India, with a focus on the energy sector, according to Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. This new commitment was discussed during the 14th Meeting of the India-UAE High Level Joint Task Force on Investments in Mumbai.
The UAE has already invested approximately $25 billion in India and aims to reach a total of $100 billion in long-term investments. The meeting, co-chaired by Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and attended by Emirati Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Al Zeyoudi, explored strengthening trade and investment partnerships.
Discussions centered on advancing cooperation across key sectors including energy, infrastructure, logistics, advanced technology, and food security. Both sides also focused on leveraging the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to drive trade, investment, and build resilient supply chains. Bilateral trade between India and the UAE has already doubled to $100 billion since the CEPA was signed four years ago, with plans to double it again to $200 billion by 2032.
