Hong Kong is set to host its first officially coordinated, citywide Halloween celebration in October 2026, branded "Ultimate Cosplay Halloween." The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is organizing the month-long event, aiming to consolidate individual district and venue celebrations into a cohesive city-wide experience.
Previously, Halloween events were scattered across different locations, such as theme parks and Lan Kwai Fong. This year, the HKTB is bringing these together, with street parties planned for Central, Kai Tak, Lan Kwai Fong, Mong Kok, and Tsim Sha Tsui East on three consecutive Saturdays: October 17, 24, and culminating on Halloween night, October 31. These events will feature themed installations, electronic music parties, cosplay carnivals, and interactive performances.
In addition to the street festivities, Hong Kong Disneyland will run its "Halloween Time" from September 18 to November 1, featuring a Disney Villains takeover, themed shows, and character encounters. Ocean Park's "Halloween Fest" will also run from September 5 to November 1. For those looking to participate in the citywide cosplay theme, costume shopping is recommended at Pottinger Street, Tai Yuen Street, and Fuk Wing Street, with Sham Shui Po noted as a wholesale hub.
To encourage participation, the HKTB is offering free rides on decorated Citybus and trams on October 17, 24, and 31 for costumed attendees. An Halloween-themed open-top sightseeing bus will also operate, connecting various festive hotspots. Knutsford Terrace in Tsim Sha Tsui is also being promoted as a nightlife hub with over 30 participating bars and restaurants.
