Russian forces struck a residential building in central Kyiv with a drone on Friday morning, killing a 14-year-old boy and injuring at least seven others, Ukrainian officials reported. The attack also caused fires in non-residential buildings in two city districts. Separately, one person was killed and another injured in "massive" Russian strikes on a residential area and logistics premises in the southern Odesa region.
Ukraine's officials stated that Russia has been increasingly using faster, high-flying drones that are harder to intercept in its attacks on Kyiv and surrounding areas in recent weeks. Russia denies deliberately targeting civilians in the ongoing conflict, which began with its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
