Odesa Oblast in the south was particularly targeted with a "mass strike" that damaged residential buildings, a medical facility, a hotel, a shop, and a grain storage facility, according to local governor Oleh Kiper. One person was killed and two injured in Odesa.
Overnight on September 27, Russia launched 170 Shahed-type attack drones, including 76 jet-powered versions, as well as decoy drones. Ukraine's Air Force reported that its air defenses shot down or suppressed 147 drones, though strikes were recorded at 18 locations and debris fell at eight. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that residential buildings, energy infrastructure, and other civilian infrastructure were attacked in Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Poltava, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv oblasts.
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, four people were killed and five injured. Donetsk Oblast reported three deaths and five injuries. In Sumy, a glide bomb attack on a residential area killed two people and injured 28, including four children. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast saw two deaths and six injuries. Kharkiv Oblast reported two deaths and three injuries. In Kyiv, drones injured five people and damaged buildings, while in Kyiv Oblast, 23 facilities were damaged and two people injured. Kherson Oblast reported one injury and damage to infrastructure. In Poltava Oblast, a drone crash damaged power lines, temporarily cutting electricity to about 500 customers.
