As September marks Realtor Safety Month, real estate agents are increasingly adopting technology to address evolving safety concerns. Watson Realty is set to deploy the Bond personal security platform to over 1,000 agents across Florida and Georgia, integrating it as a standard company tool.
Bill Watson III, president of Watson Realty, stated that the shift towards more independent work, accelerated by the pandemic, necessitates such safety measures. The Bond platform combines a mobile app with a 24-hour command center, offering features like location sharing, trip monitoring, live video connections, and an option for agents to be placed on standby. The ability to activate live video was a key factor in Watson's decision, providing a deterrent and documentation tool, especially when meeting clients in vacant properties.
Doron Kempel, founder, chairman, and CEO of Bond, noted that the company has invested over $100 million in developing the technology, which is available in 28 countries. Bond has managed nearly 1.5 million security service requests and over 10,000 emergencies, with a significant portion of calls coming from real estate agents and individuals in ride-sharing vehicles. Kempel highlighted the platform's preventative approach, designed to assist users in situations that are too early to call emergency services but potentially dangerous if unaddressed.
