Tab, a new personal AI assistant, has officially launched, announcing its emergence from stealth with a valuation of $300 million. The company, founded by Brennan Erbz, Stafford Schlitt, and Ammar Amdani, aims to help users manage everyday tasks through simple text requests.
Amdani explained that users can text the Tab assistant on iMessage or WhatsApp with their needs, such as ordering groceries or finding birthday presents, and Tab will execute these tasks. He emphasized that the AI has its own phone number, computer, and wallet, allowing it to perform actions directly rather than just advising. "Your data is never used to train AI. Your card lives in a vault Tab itself never sees. Nothing that can be undone happens without your ‘yes.’ Capability is table stakes. Trust is the product,” Amdani stated.
Investors in the current round include SV Angel, Valar Ventures, and American Spirit. The company is currently growing through word-of-mouth and plans to release a new product soon. Amdani acknowledged the competitive landscape in consumer AI, comparing the need for personalized AI to having a trusted family doctor or banker.
