Mortgage Nerds, a mortgage company led by Mike Cox and Brian Hofmann, announced on Thursday that it will join the NEXA Lending platform. This decision comes after an approximately 18-month search for a new operational base.
Cox and Hofmann cited NEXA's servicing and borrower retention capabilities, along with NEXA CEO Mike Kortas's involvement with the veteran community and the company's relationship with Vetted VA, as primary reasons for the move. They emphasized that they built a company worth scaling and sought a platform that would support its growth.
Mortgage Nerds, which has focused on educating veterans about VA loans, will continue to operate under its existing brand. Its affiliated third-party processing company, Processing Nerds, will remain independent and continue to serve brokers and originators nationwide.
NEXA Lending has recently been active, having acquired UMortgage, brought Anthony Casa onto the team as an executive partner, and launched NEXA Unlimited, a model offering loan officers 100% of their originated loan revenue.
