Laika Studios debuts trailer for animated feature Wildwood

Laika Studios has released a full-length trailer for its highly anticipated stop-motion animated feature, Wildwood. The trailer, set to a haunting cover of Avicii’s “Wake Me Up,” follows twelve-year-old Prue McKee as she discovers a magical world called the Wilderness while searching for her baby brother, Mac, who was carried away by a murder of crows. Her schoolmate, Curtis Mehlberg, joins her on this adventure. Within the Wilderness, they encounter a mysterious woman named Alexandra, who has lost her son, as well as coyotes and bandits, and uncover significant secrets. Peyton Elizabeth Lee voices Prue, Jacob Tremblay voices Curtis, and Carey Mulligan voices Alexandra. The film's cast also includes Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Maya Erskine, Arthur Knight, Mahershala Ali, Jemaine Clement, Awkwafina, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Tom Waits, Tantoo Cardinal, Richard E. Grant, Marc Evan Jackson, Len Cariou, Rob Delaney, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and Blythe Danner in various roles. A teaser trailer for Wildwood released in May garnered over 90 million views. Wildwood is scheduled to open in theaters on October 23.
