Sally French Tyler, president of First American Title Insurance Company, is set to retire at the close of 2026, concluding a 40-year career in the title industry, with 21 of those years spent at First American.
Tyler joined First American in January 2005 and was appointed president of its National Commercial Services division the following year. During her 15-year leadership of this division, she more than doubled its operating revenue, establishing it as one of the nation's largest commercial title and settlement operations.
Her responsibilities later expanded across First American’s broader title business, culminating in her appointment as president of First American Title in 2025. In this capacity, she oversees the company’s direct, agency, and commercial title operations.
Under Tyler's leadership, the Title Insurance and Services segment saw a 22% revenue increase in 2025, with full-year commercial revenue reaching $1 billion, a 32% rise from the previous year. She is recognized for her impact on the company and the title industry, understanding customer needs and employee welfare.
Tyler has been a proponent of innovation and leadership development, creating the VisionQuest program to foster new ideas, which contributed to the development of First American's digital platform for commercial real estate transactions. More recently, the company launched an AI-powered property title monitoring and fraud alert service.
As the first woman to reach the executive vice president level at First American, Tyler co-founded the company’s Women in Leadership Initiative in 2012. She has also held leadership and board positions with organizations such as CREW Network and MISMO.
Tyler stated that her retirement was planned to facilitate a smooth transition and that she will remain involved with First American until the end of 2026.
