Mattamy Homes, a Canadian-based homebuilder, has announced a planned leadership transition for its U.S. operations. Keith Bass, who has served as U.S. CEO since 2020, will retire effective September 1, 2026. Chris Lindhorst, currently the U.S. Chief Operating Officer, is set to succeed Bass as the CEO of Mattamy Homes U.S.
Lindhorst joined Mattamy in February 2026, bringing over 20 years of experience in the homebuilding industry. Prior to his role at Mattamy, he spent more than 16 years at D.R. Horton, the largest homebuilder in the United States. In his previous position, Lindhorst was a regional president overseeing operations that annually closed over 13,000 homes across 11 markets in Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico.
During Bass's six-year tenure, Mattamy's U.S. division achieved record revenues, earnings, and community counts, navigating significant market fluctuations including pandemic-driven demand shifts and rising interest rates. Larry Nicholson, vice chair of Mattamy Homes, praised Bass for strengthening and expanding the U.S. platform during "extraordinary market conditions and industry change."
As the new U.S. CEO, Lindhorst will be responsible for all aspects of Mattamy's American operations and will lead the execution of the company's long-term growth strategy. He expressed his honor in taking on the role and his intention to build upon the existing foundation, focusing on execution and value creation.
Mattamy Homes, headquartered in Toronto, operates in 11 U.S. markets and delivers approximately 8,000 homes annually across North America. The company has a 48-year history in the homebuilding industry.
