Apple has opened preorders for its new HomeView smart home hub, a device aimed at centralizing control of the company's ecosystem of smart home devices. The HomeView, priced at $299, features a 7-inch Liquid Retina (LCD) display and a speaker, and is designed to recognize up to six users through its integrated camera, personalizing their experience with preferred apps and widgets.
The hub integrates with Siri AI, allowing users to control smart home devices, access information, and manage tasks. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-supporting iPhone or iPad, HomeView can leverage personal context from Messages, Calendar, and other apps for more advanced Siri interactions. For users without an Apple Intelligence-enabled device, Siri AI still offers broad world knowledge and conversational capabilities.
HomeView also supports displaying livestreams from up to nine video feeds simultaneously. With a compatible iCloud+ subscription, it can provide end-to-end encrypted recognition of people, pets, packages, and vehicles, offering notifications and video descriptions for HomeKit Secure Video footage. The device is powered by Apple's A18 chip and features a screen that adjusts brightness and information density based on room lighting and user proximity.
The HomeView launches on November 13. A specific model is available for wall mounting, which requires an additional power connector starting at $60.
