Woman killed in drone attack debris in Russia's Voronezh region

A woman was killed and three people were injured after debris from drones shot down by air defense systems fell on a house in the town of Borisoglebsk in Russia's Voronezh region. Regional governor Alexander Gusev stated on Sunday that air defense systems had destroyed 19 drones over the region. The Russian defense ministry reported that 448 Ukrainian drones were shot down over multiple regions overnight.

Gusev described the attack as one of the heaviest drone assaults since the start of what Moscow terms its "special military operation." The attack also damaged more than 10 apartment buildings, approximately 10 private houses, a secondary school, and several administrative buildings in the city of Voronezh. The full extent of the attack on Voronezh, located 470 km (292 miles) from Moscow and about 250 km (155 miles) from the Ukrainian border, was not immediately clear. Reuters could not independently verify the reports.
