In the wider Kyiv Oblast, attacks over the preceding day resulted in two deaths and seven injuries, including two children, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. A total of 31 sites were damaged in the region, including homes, apartment buildings, production facilities, and vehicles.

The renewed attacks came after a brief pause in Russian strikes on the capital, which coincided with the visit of U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The previous day, September 8, a large-scale Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv killed five people and injured 35 others, causing significant fires across the city.
