U.S. nutrition startup Berry Street announced its merger with Indian startup Healthify on Monday, aiming to capitalize on the growing popularity of GLP-1 drugs for weight loss. The companies did not disclose financial terms for the deal.

A report from JP Morgan projected that over 30 million people in the U.S. will be using GLP-1 drugs by 2030.

Under the new structure, Berry Street founder Noah Kotlove and Healthify founder Tushar Vashisht will serve as co-CEOs. The combined entity will operate as Berry Street in the U.S. and retain the Healthify brand in other markets, including India.

Healthify, which has secured over $150 million in funding, offers AI-powered and human-led fitness and nutritional coaching through its app. The company expanded into the U.S. last year and launched GLP-1-aided programs in India, claiming to have served more than 45 million customers.

Berry Street operates a network of over 2,000 clinics and provides insurance-covered GLP-1 care. The company also offers AI-driven nutrition coaching and meal tracking, and has collaborated with platforms like Amazon and Walmart, serving over 200,000 individuals. Berry Street raised $50 million last year from investors including Northzone, Sofina, and FJ Labs.

"By pairing AI with a nationwide network of expert clinicians, Healthify and Berry Street are building the platform that will redefine metabolic care, giving everyone access to daily nutrition guidance and expert dietitian advice," said Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures.
