Prediction market platform Trueo announced plans to migrate from the Base Layer 2 network to Ethereum's mainnet. The move, expected to occur after attracting more liquidity and launching its next-generation oracle system, is driven by the desire for broader integration opportunities and product upside that Trueo believes Ethereum offers over Base's more limited ecosystem.
Trueo co-founder "Lumberg" stated on X that Ethereum is the optimal chain for a "credibly neutral and truthful oracle system and prediction markets." The platform initially chose Base upon its launch in March 2025 due to elevated mainnet gas costs and the experimental nature of some of its features at the time. However, Trueo now aims for wider adoption, broad integration, and permissionless, immutable, and credible operation, which it believes are best supported by Ethereum.
