South Korean financial technology giants Kakao Pay and KakaoBank have entered into a memorandum of understanding with crypto infrastructure provider Fireblocks to investigate opportunities within the digital asset space, with a particular focus on stablecoins. This collaboration aims to develop and test secure on-chain infrastructure that aligns with South Korea's specific regulatory, security, and service demands.
The agreement, announced on Monday, will involve proof-of-concept tests to lay the groundwork for the country's burgeoning digital asset market.
