South Korea's homegrown Nuri rocket is slated for launch on October 7, with the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) confirming the mission to place 15 satellites into orbit. The launch is scheduled to take place at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, located approximately 473 kilometers south of Seoul, between 12:23 p.m. and 1:23 p.m. KST. A backup launch window has been designated from October 8 to October 14.
This upcoming launch will be the fifth for the Nuri rocket. Its inaugural launch in October 2021 failed to place a dummy satellite into orbit. However, subsequent launches in June 2022, May 2023, and November 2025 achieved success, deploying various satellites, including a Performance Verification Satellite, cube satellites, and a total of 13 satellites in the most recent launch. The satellites for the upcoming mission are currently undergoing function checks at the center.
