This event is significant as it marks the first major product launch under Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, and could signal a strategic shift towards AI-powered devices, potentially impacting Apple's competitive position in the smartphone market and its future product development.
Apple has scheduled its next major product launch event for September 9, where the company is widely expected to unveil its newest iPhone series and potentially its first foldable iPhone. This event marks a significant moment as John Ternus will officially become Apple's CEO on September 1, succeeding Tim Cook, who will transition to an executive chairman role. The invitation for the event carries the tagline “surprise and shine.”
Analysts are anticipating that Ternus, with his background in hardware engineering, may signal a new direction for Apple with a focus on AI-powered gadgets, an area where some believe Apple has lagged behind competitors. The introduction of a foldable iPhone would represent a major new hardware expansion under Ternus's leadership, potentially challenging Samsung's dominance in the niche market and boosting the category's overall popularity.
The iPhone remains Apple's most profitable product line. A foldable model, typically priced higher than standard smartphones, could attract high-paying customers. Some experts suggest that iPhones launched in September could see increased prices, with predictions of a starting price around $1,500.
