The State Border Guard Service reported that the passage of citizens and vehicles through the checkpoint was suspended, with transport being redirected to other crossings. This incident marks the third attack on a border crossing between Ukraine and Moldova in the last two weeks. Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called the attacks a "clear pattern," accusing Russia of "deliberately trying to disrupt connectivity" between Ukraine and its neighbor. He also called on the international community to condemn Russia’s systematic targeting of civilian transport corridors and critical border infrastructure. Previously, on August 21, a Russian attack damaged the Tabaky border crossing, and on August 20, an attack was reported near the Reni–Giurgiulești crossing.
