The Philippines has launched an ambitious seven-year master plan, the Philippines AI+ Infrastructure Masterplan 2026–2033, with a total investment target of $34.4 billion. This initiative aims to transform the nation into a leading regional hub for artificial intelligence infrastructure and digital services, shifting from its previous focus on soft skills to high-power processing capabilities.
The plan seeks to attract approximately $21 billion in private sector investment by 2033, including a significant portion for a flagship hyperscale AI data hub. A key objective is to expand the country's AI data center capacity from the current approximately 50 MW to 1.5 gigawatts by 2033. If planned investments materialize, capacity could reach 1 GW by the end of 2026.
Beyond infrastructure, the strategy includes reskilling 1.3 million IT and business-process management workers and creating more than 500,000 AI-related jobs. The government also intends to strengthen connectivity, improve the regulatory environment, and enhance AI adoption across the nation.
This master plan is part of a broader regional effort across Southeast Asia to build the necessary infrastructure for AI and data-intensive businesses, positioning the Philippines to compete with neighboring digital hubs.
