Wells Fargo, Barclays, Societe Generale, FNZ, Citi, Two Sigma, ING, Eurex, Options Clearing Corporation, and ProShares have announced a series of executive appointments and departures.
At Wells Fargo, Derek Flowers is retiring as chief risk officer in mid-January 2027 after nearly three decades with the firm. Scott Powell, who has been working closely with Flowers on risk and control priorities, will succeed him. Powell, who has been COO since late 2019, previously served as CEO of Santander Holdings USA and Santander Consumer USA Holdings.
Barclays has appointed Phil Beale as its new chief risk officer, effective September 11, succeeding Matthew Stevens, who is retiring after 34 years. Beale returns to Barclays, where he previously spent 12 years, most recently as CRO for its business bank, mortgages, and ventures. He also served as deputy group CRO at Aldermore Bank.
Societe Generale's global markets leadership is undergoing further changes under Hatem Mustapha. Salim Nemouchi has been appointed head of global markets, UK, effective November, relocating to London and retaining his role as global head of prime services. He succeeds Albert Loo, who will move to Paris as global head of financial institutions coverage within global banking and advisory, and head of investor coverage. Natasha Dadlani and Stephane Dahome will become co-heads of equities and equity derivatives Americas from November, reporting to Sylvain Cartier, head of global markets Americas in New York. Tomoyuki Sasi has been appointed head of global markets, Japan, effective September 1, succeeding Marc Saffon, who became group country head for Japan. Benoit Grisoni has been named deputy head of French retail banking, private banking and insurance, effective October 1, and will continue as CEO of BoursoBank.
Blythe Masters is leaving her role as group CEO of FNZ. Stephen Welch will assume the responsibilities of group CEO alongside his new position as executive group chair while the board seeks a permanent replacement.
