Patreon, a platform for creators, has launched 30 new features designed to enhance creator discovery, community building, and earnings. CEO Jack Conte stated that the current web prioritizes fleeting engagement over genuine community, making it difficult for creators to be fairly compensated.
The new features include 'Clips,' which allows creators to turn videos into short, shareable clips for off-platform sharing or as Patreon's 'Quip' post format. Tools are also being tested to provide potential fans with video previews of engaging content or text snippets from longer posts to encourage subscriptions.
