Norway mourns King Harald V as son Haakon VIII ascends throne

Norway is mourning the death of King Harald V, who passed away at the age of 89, concluding a 35-year reign. His son, Crown Prince Haakon, has ascended to the throne as King Haakon VIII, with his daughter Princess Ingrid Alexandra now the heir apparent. His wife, Queen Mette-Marit, has faced public scrutiny for past associations with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and recently underwent a lung transplant. Furthermore, Mette-Marit's son from a previous relationship, Marius Borg Høiby, was convicted of rape and is appealing his sentence.
