Neolix to test driverless vans in Brussels, seeks EU market entry

Chinese startup Neolix has received Belgium's official Y Test Plate, making it the first RoboVan company in Europe to obtain such testing authorization. The company plans to use this permit to evaluate its driverless vans' performance under local Belgian conditions.

Neolix, in partnership with Brussels mobility consultancy Espaces-Mobilités and local non-profit STALEM, is preparing for a 12-month Level 4 RoboVan pilot program in central Brussels. The project, named AutoLog, is targeted to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2026. The pilot will involve using the RoboVans for last-mile delivery and waste collection on a designated route connecting a depot near Gare du Midi with shops in the city center. The vehicles are intended to complement existing logistics options like cargo bikes.

However, the pilot's launch is conditional on the approval of a federal testing authorization application, which is currently under formal review by Belgium's Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport. Regional and city-level approvals are progressing in parallel. The company has also announced plans to establish its European headquarters in Luxembourg, with Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, France, and Switzerland identified as initial European markets.

Neolix's Xolra RoboVans feature mapless autonomous driving capabilities, whole-area environment perception using BEV and visual AI, and are produced in a self-built factory ecosystem. The company highlights its experience with various logistics applications, including express logistics, city retail, cold chain delivery, and industrial logistics, with partners such as Swiss Post, JD Logistics, IKEA, and ZF.
