U.S. Immigration officials arrested controversial British far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos on Thursday at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The Department of Homeland Security stated that Yiannopoulos entered the United States legally in May 2019 and is accused of overstaying his visa. An immigration judge issued a final order of removal on July 22 after Yiannopoulos failed to appear for his immigration hearing. He remains in ICE custody pending deportation. Yiannopoulos, a former editor for Breitbart News, also interned for Marjorie Taylor Greene and worked on the 2024 presidential campaign for Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. Far-right activist Laura Loomer claimed credit for his detention, stating she had reported him to ICE.
