Leah Price, who led Better's Tinman AI platform strategy, is departing the company to join United Wholesale Mortgage's technology team. Price confirmed her move after Better's founder and former CEO, Vishal Garg, posted about her departure on X, expressing surprise and concern for shareholders. A spokesperson for Better confirmed Price has moved on to pursue a new opportunity and denied that her departure is linked to the company's ongoing corporate governance battle or other leadership changes.
Price was hired by Better in June 2025, having previously led fintech and artificial intelligence innovation efforts at the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). At the FHFA, she served as a senior financial technology and innovation specialist and led the agency's Office of Financial Technology, playing a key role in its TechSprint focused on generative AI. Prior to her time at the FHFA, Price spent two years as vice president of the lending ecosystem at Figure Technologies and six years at Fannie Mae.
