Howard Hughes Communities, the real estate arm of Howard Hughes Holdings Inc., announced Thursday the promotion of Kate Kaminski to president of its Arizona region. In her new role, Kaminski will be responsible for strategy, investment, development, and operations for Teravalis, a large master-planned community located in Buckeye, Arizona.
This leadership transition occurs as Teravalis moves into a more active phase of development, with its first residential village, Floreo, now welcoming residents. Floreo is planned to include approximately 8,500 homes, with seven homebuilders currently involved in sales. Kaminski, who joined Howard Hughes in 2024 as chief operating officer of the Arizona region, previously spent nearly two decades at Walton Global, where she served as global chief operating officer.
Kaminski succeeds Charley Freericks, a veteran executive who led the Arizona region and the initial development stages of Teravalis. Freericks will transition to a senior advisor role, focusing on long-range initiatives and new opportunities within Howard Hughes Communities. David O’Reilly, CEO of Howard Hughes, stated that the transition was planned and that Kaminski has earned the opportunity to build upon the foundation Freericks established.
